The MK Phantom REV sits at the very top of the MK blade range, combining the proven Phantom freestyle blade profile with Jackson Ultima's Revolution carbon fiber chassis technology. Designed for elite skaters performing triple and quadruple jumps, the Phantom REV delivers the same side-honed, tapered blade geometry that has won world championships, now paired with a lightweight carbon composite frame for greater precision, control, and height.
Revolution Carbon Fiber Chassis
The "REV" designation stands for Revolution, Jackson Ultima's proprietary carbon fiber chassis system. The Revolution chassis replaces the traditional steel stanchions and sole plate with a carbon composite frame composed of 100% unidirectional fibers, compression-molded with a thermosetting resin. This construction dramatically reduces weight while maintaining the structural rigidity that elite jumpers demand. The lighter chassis means less energy is required on each takeoff, translating directly into greater jump height and reduced skater fatigue over long training sessions.
Tapered, Side-Honed Blade Profile
The blade runner retains the Phantom's signature tapered and side-honed geometry. The taper reduces drag through the glide zone while concentrating material where it matters most for takeoffs and landings. Side-honing produces sharper, more defined edges for the precise edge control that multi-rotation jumps require. The cross-cut toe rake provides deep, reliable ice grip during toe-assisted takeoffs.
Thermal Benefits of Carbon Fiber
An often-overlooked advantage of the carbon fiber chassis is its poor thermal conductivity. Unlike steel, carbon fiber does not readily transfer cold from the ice through the blade and into the boot, helping keep skaters' feet warmer during extended sessions on the ice.
